for Friendship

live simply - love generously - care deeply - speak kindly ORIGINAL ART 10x10

I'm running quite late this morning as I stayed way past my bedtime- on a school night- meeting up with my college roommate. We hadn't seen each other in 11 years but it was just like old times. It's funny how (ideally), spending your first chunk of time away from home, and realizing you're not the smarty-pants you thought you were, with another person from whom you are quite different, can create lasting bonds. J transferred from our college after the first semester, but I treasured our times together.

In celebration of friendship, here are a few pieces of art on the topic. Isn't it amazing the diversity and availability of art?

  1. My friends are like my sisters, my family, my life. And, my college friends hold a special place...the people you first grow up with (w/out parental supervision). What could be more fun? Hope you are well.

  4. Girlfriends are the best- they are the kind where you can pick up and chat like you have never missed a day of talking even if it has been years. Sounds like you had a perfect night!

  5. Ohh, I LOVE that painting of the girls at the beach. My college girlfriends meet up every year at the beach and that is EXACTLY what we look like all circled up and running our mouths. So glad you all were able to catch up!

  9. College definitely creates really strong bonds for friendship. One of my best friends from college ended up at law school with me and we lived together for 2 years -- every time I see her (she's in Dallas), it's like no time has passed. Another one of my college buds (my roomie senior year actually) ended up marrying my cousin -- so now we're family. :)

  10. My 25 year college reunion is coming up in a few weeks (I'm not thinking about how old that makes me!) and I can't wait to see everyone again. I've kept in touch with a few college friends who are just like sisters and it is just like we were together yesterday whenever we meet. Hope it isn't another eleven years before your see your college friend again!
